There were some great results for Barnet Copthall swimmers in the first 2 days of the British Championships. Friday started with a silver medal for Elaine Blower in the 1500 free. Following this were three gold medals - Duncan Hartley and Mark Reynolds for 200 free (Mark in a new British record) and Mike Fibbens in the 50 fly. Then, what must be the highlight of the day - a bronze for Master's coach Ian Woollard in the 50 fly.
Congratulations to Akshay Shah who has been chosen to represent his home country of Kenya at the 9th African Junior Swimming Championships at the beginning of December. He will be leaving England for Kenya on 28th November to join his team and will then travel with them to Cairo for the Championships on 4th-8th December. Good luck, Akshay!
(No rest for Akshay when he gets back - just the little matter of mock GCSEs!)
