There were 5 National Qualifying Times achieved by Copthall swimmers at London Regions last weekend. Charlie Boldison bettered the NQT in both 100 back (which he had already) and the 200 back. Oliver Keegan also ticked off two NQTs - in the 400 free and the 200 fly. Maddie Tichborne swam a NQT in the 400 free - her excellent swims in the 800m and 1500m unfortunately don't count as for these events only long course NQTs exist.
..... were held at Barnet Copthall at the weekend. I would welcome a detailed report from anyone who was there - although when I was in the building on Saturday to go to the gym, it seemed to me that not many Copthall parents were actually in a position to watch much of the swimming. Most seemed to be fully occupied selling programmes, marshalling, providing food etc etc etc.
From the results posted on the London Region website I was, however, able to spot some great swims from Barnet swimmers.
An excellent third day for Barnet Copthall Masters with 6 more medals - 5 of them gold - and a British and European record.
Elaine Blower (60-64) won two more medals - a gold in the 800 free (12:34.15) and a silver in the 200 back - to go with the two bronze medals she already had. Judy Alden (60-64) improved on Friday's silver with a gold in the 50 breast in 42.91.
