Well, I'm back - a lovely trip to the Pyrenees-Orientales to collect my daughter from a fruit farm where she was working - beautiful countryside and a great meal of couscous/tajine last night at an excellent restaurant in Pau. OK, that's it for the travelogue - back to the swimming!
The third day started with a couple of PBs for Barnet Copthall swimmers in the Women's 200 free. Megan Boldison improved her time to finish in 2:12.34 and Jessie Porter knocked two and a half seconds off her PB for a 2:06.30. Well swum girls!
OK, now I'm away from my computer until tomorrow evening so there will be a pause in transmission ..................... see you then!
Swimming against some large amalgamated clubs, there was a huge 11 second improvement on their London Region qualifying swim from the girls 4 x 200m freestylerelay team (Lauren Chapple, Jo Zambelli, Megan Boldison and Jessie Porter). This left them just outside a final place and their time of 8:43.89 left many clubs in their wake with a lot more swimmers to call upon than Barnet Copthall.
The Youth Championships started with two excellent PBs for Barnet Copthall swimmers. Jessie Porter knocked a second off her 100 free time to finish in 59.33 - first time under the minute long course, well done Jessie! In the 400 free, Oliver Keegan improved his 400 free time by 5 seconds with a 4:16.81.
