The first event of the morning was the boys 200 free in which Felix Cheng (12 years) and Freddie Cornwell (14 years) represented Barnet Copthall. Both qualified for this evenings finals - Felix as 3rd fastest with 2:09.95 and Freddie as 6th fastest on 2:01.23.
Yaron Gerber swam in the 100 breaststroke heats and qualified in 6th with a 1:10.29 - looking at his PB it would seem he was toying with the opposition, we will see!
In the final of the 11/12 years 400 free, Felix Cheng retained his 7th position from the heats with a slightly faster 4:34.44.
The other final featuring Barnet Copthall swimmers was the 14 years 200 backstroke where both Joe Zlotnick and Freddie Cornwell represented the club. Joe improved his heats position from 9th to 6th and his time by over a second to 2:13.59.
First Barnet Copthall swimmer in the water this morning was Felix Cheng, doubtless still smiling after collecting 2 medals yesterday. In the 400 free he swam a 4:35.06 for 7th place and another final this evening.
Both Joe Zlotnick (9th in 2:14.80) and Freddie Cornwell (2nd in 2:11.82) both qualified for tonight's 200 back final - thus giving us the third final of these Age Groups in which Barnet Copthall had 2 swimmers competing.
Wow! After two days of National Age Groups,Barnet Copthall leads the Points Table for Top Men's Club on 62 points with Plymouth Leander (57) and Stockport Metro (54) - two HUGE clubs - following on. FANTASTIC!
