Guess what number Rachael was given for her swim? In case she forgot, they painted her on both arms and hands too. Needed an awful lot of nail varnish remover to clean it all off but she is back to normal today enjoying a well deserved late breakfast.
Friday saw Georgie pick up another top ten finish when she was placed 6th in 200m Butterfly. There were 15 entries in her 70-74 year age group. A really excellent swim, slightly outside her entry time but still improved her seeding.
Two Barnet Copthall swimmers go through to semi-finals this evening - Yaron Gerber who was 6th fastest in the 15/16 years 200 breaststroke with 2:25.38 and Freddie Cornwell whose 1:00.11 in the 15/16 years 100 back put him in 16th place. The 400 IM goes straight from heats to finals and swimming in the final tonight in the 17/18 years age group is Karis Fuller - her 5:02.07 was 8th fastest.
Emily Bell swam this morning in the 15/16 years 200 fly and qualified for this evening's semi-final in 2:20.73 - 15th fastest qualifier. In the evening she repeated this swim within a few hundredths with 2:20.78 and 15th place - no final I'm afraid.
In the afternoon session, Bradley Slavinec went in the 1500 free. This is a HDW event and Bradley's time of 15:57.41 was 5th fastest and equivalent to a final placing. Congratulations!
