More information about next weekend's Masters Distance Meet can now be found via the Competitions page of this website. This includes confirmed session times, warm up arrangements and psych sheet for the 800m. This is also a plea for any officials reading this who can help at any of the sessions (Saturday evening, Sunday morning/afternoon/evening) to contact Ian and volunteer your services. Thanks.
Age Group Squad member Melissa Byrne is presented with the Junior Wilkinson Sword by MCASA Chairman, Ralph Shortland. This is awarded to the 11U girl who accumulated most points. Melissa follows in the footsteps of her older sister Meghan who took the award a few years ago.
This weekend, the 65th running of the English Schools Swimming Association [ESSA] Inter-Divisional Championships will take place in Sunderland. It will be one of two such events held this year. Travelling there to compete are Senior Squad members Meghan Byrne, Karis Fuller, Yaron Gerber and Emily Bell who have been selected to represent the London region and Felix Cheng who will represent East Region.
Very sadly, we learnt a few days ago that Len Badcock had died at the weekend. Anyone who has competed at Barnet Copthall over the past 20+ years will have come across Len in his role as referee and anyone having any contact with Middlesex ASA in the same time frame will have come across him fulfilling multiple important roles for the county. Len was the fount of all knowledge when it came to the rules of swimming and of swimming competitions.
