Lots more medals for Barnet Copthall on the 3rd and final day of the master's national championships. First thing this morning were two medals in the 800 free - a silver for Jayne Ball and a gold for Elaine Blower. This was followed by a second gold medal for Copthall's website designer Joe Twyman - this time in the 100 back. In everyone's favourite event - 200 fly - a gold for Georgie Hamilton and a silver for Duncan Hartley. Judy Alden won another medal - a gold for 50 breast. At the end of the morning were the 4 x 50 free relays - Barnet Copthall won gold in both the women's 240+ (in a new British and European record) and the men's 160+ (no Mark Foster to compete against today!).
The afternoon session opened with a silver for Elaine Blower in the 200 back and then 3 golds in the 50 free for Mike Fibbens, Mark Reynolds and Judy Alden. The last individuyal medal was a bronze for Lisa Dawson in the 200 IM but there was one more Barnet Copthall medal - a gold for the 120+ men's 4 x 50m medley relay team.
Congratulations to Ian and his squad on a great set of results.
